Fashion textiles designer, Moe Takahashi explores innovative and
sophisticated textiles for fashion that reflect her unique approach to textile design.
Her 2014 degree collection ‘FAKE’ was inspired by science,
and touched on the idea of manipulating toys and dolls to mimic humans.
The collection also linked to ideas of social cloning by Jean Baudrillard and Biopolitics by Michel
Foucault. The extraordinary textiles seen are made
combining a mixture of digital techniques and more traditional textile

techniques with the aim of showing
the unstable transition between body and machine enabled
by modern-day technology. The collection demonstrates new engagements between high and low textile techniques in a very sophisticated way.
