Natsumi Zama is a womenswear designer based in London, UK. Natsumi studied fashion design at Bunka, in Japan
and recently graduated with a BA Honours, in Fashion Design and Technology, Womenswear, from the London College of Fashion.
During her study she worked for Louise Goldin as an assistant. After graduation, she launched her own label after
working at Future Classics,as a machinist and an assistant.
Her graduate collection was shown at an exclusive press show in London in June 2009, and loved by
Another Magazine and other major fashion magazines. The collection is
inspired by Japanese Traditional garments: the Kimono

and made
with colossal bows featuring in both structured and unstructured manners. The colourway of the collection is focused on a mono
palette to define a purist aesthetic with very controlled detail. The collection also contains the idea of covering up and thus exudes a
certain prudish attitude.
Natsumi Zama’s style is both familiar and different. Getting her inspirations from the minimalism and aesthetics in daily life.
Her creations look simple, yet unique.
