siripirun tan

Siripirun Tan grew up in Bangkok, Thailand but spent time studying in New Zealand before coming to the UK to study at the prestigious London College of Fashion. Consequently, her Thai heritage and culture plays a large influence in her style of work, particularly the art of thai hand-crafting and the attention to detail that is involved in this skill. Her collection was inspired by Commedia dell'arte and Pierrot themed paintings by Picasso and Juan Gris. She also recreated

certain silhouettes, seen in the garments, using details found in vintage clowns pictures. The unusual shapes, bright colours and textures displayed in her collection were constructed by using smocking techniques on the garment fabrics. The Thai garland technique (a Thai craftmanship) was also utilised in shaping the garments. The use of Thai Garland Flowers are seen throughout the collection.
